Seattle Had Snow

Operative word: had.

When it snows in the Seattle area, it doesn’t stick around for long. By the time I got my camera out and took a picture of the kids snowman, he looked like this…
Poor thing fell over and melted away before our very eyes in the pouring rain. Can you see the tiny bit of head left and the orange spot laying next to it. That’s the nose; a carrot (which a wild bunny probably ended up eating). Those two twigs flayling around (imagine it) were once arms. All the dirt and pine needles are another sign that it’s Seattle. All snowballs contain a pine needle or two.

This is probably why 1/2 our Christmas lights aren’t working. But I’m no electrician.

I’m impressed that you have lights up already. Dad and I have talked about it! Also, I didn’t know you had gotten snow. You must be busy, busy, busy.

The difference between the Seattle snowman and the Lubbock snowman is the pine needles. That snowman picture is so Calvinesque.

funny as i call my sister in woodinville and she tells me church is canceled. ‘how much snow did you get?’ i ask. ‘four inches’ she says. ‘huh’ i say as i just come in from 7 inches of snow and all three hours of church. difference between utah and washington. also those darned hills. well, and their snow doesn’t ‘crunch’ under your tires.

  6. Yeah. I kind of think rain is harder on snowmen than the sun.My neighbor from across the street (the family we call the Griswolds) just installed a brand new breaker just for his Christmas lights.
